![]() I have been having anxiety surrounding a lymph node for the past month and it’s horrible. Don't know what I should do because I'm the type of person to rather die of cancer than to have a half paralyzed face/body for the rest of my life. Since my grandmother had NHL at a very young age I'm very worried. I've read some medical publication where firm nodes were described as almost always malignant. I'm still worried because the nodes are very hard. I consulted my oncologist who said he wouln't do it if it was him then since there's to many comoplications related to implications. He said that there's a chance of me never being able to lift my arm again, problems with speaking and a half paralyzed face. The problem is that the surgeon told me that the lymph nodes lay directly above three important nerves and two big blood carrying vessels. ![]() That's why they referred me to get a biopsy, just to be sure. They said that they look totally unsuspicious at the ultrasound but I do have some pretty heavy night sweats from time to time. I visited a top notch oncologist who did an extreme amount of bloodwork and I also got them ultrasounded. Hey, I guess you didn't get a biopsy already? I have a lymph node that's swollen since three years right beneath my chin angle (2,8cm) and one that appeared submandibular about a year ago which is now 2,2cm long. If for some reason I’m ever actually dying, I’ll try to remember to touch base here, but until then, I’m alive with some big ass cervical lymph nodes :) I have a wild amount of random symptoms, but no doctor is ever concerned and say I act/look healthy. I’ve had some significant illnesses in my life too, so I also assume the nodes have stayed enlarged after being sick. I had a positive ANA test last fall, so my immune system is ramped up over something. They’ve always known there’s something wrong with me immune system wise, so I assume that is where this all stems from. HOWEVER, one of them does feel like a big grape to me, but on the ultrasound does not fit the “concerning” criteria. I guess they’re more likely to be malignant if they’re a ball shape, mine are all irregularly shaped. I’m worried, but have high hopes it’s nothing serious and my body is just really doing it’s job.Īll of my big nodes are less than 1cm wide, which is a big factor. since this new one is the biggest, I’m being referred to ENT for a biopsy just to clarify it’s not malignant, even though you can typically see that on the ultrasound. I’ve now had them ultrasounded twice, they have normal fatty hilia and no vascularity, in other words they look normal they’re just really big. emphasis that these are all inches, not centimeters. Then on the right side I have a new one that’s 1.5”. I have 2 lymph nodes on the left hand side, one is 3/4” and the other is 1”, I’ve had these for at least the last 7 years (since I was 16). Just chiming in about my lymph nodes to possibly ease some anxiety for some people - even though i still have anxiety about them daily lol Any chance you guys have gone through something similar I nearly avoided all of this and I’m so confused I want to say that it’s the infections but they were big before the infections. I’m guess I’m looking for closure I want to move on from this. ![]() Then after 6/7 weeks from ultrasound I got a tonsillitis infection and also pierced my ears they got infected- both treated, I came back for a ultrasound today and she said similar size and I’m so scared for results. I had a chest ultrasound aswell no masses. Start of this year I noticed one thought nothing of it and then more became problematic and I’m very skinny so can see them, most are moveable and all are painless 18weeks ago I got a ultrasound from today and they were similar size, I wasn’t sick I have iron deficiency anemia I’ve struggled with for years, so tired and ect. ![]() You can use these buttons to filter out certain posts in the subreddit.Ģ0F Second ultrasound today and showing more hilar then ever 6 cervical lymph nodes, 3 on both side, biggest just over 2cm, I had ultrasound last year and they were lest then 5mm. “Symptom Listing” and “Anyone Else Experience This?” Posts "Great Content!" - Some of our best posts.īelow is a summary list of our rules.
